1. SEPARATE FUEL TANK WIRE

  1. Peel back the floor carpet under the front left seat, disconnect the fuel tank wire connector, and pass the grommet through the floor.



2. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 clips and 4 nuts.

  1. Disengage the claw and remove the No. 1 fuel tank protector.



3. SEPARATE NO. 1 CHARCOAL CANISTER OUTLET HOSE

  1. Separate the No. 1 charcoal canister outlet hose.



4. SEPARATE FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Insert a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape into the quick connector cutout as shown in the illustration, push the quick connector lock forward, and disconnect the breather tube.

    NOTICE:
    1. Check for dirt or other foreign matter on the parts to be disconnected and clean them if necessary.
    2. The quick connector seals with an O-ring. Ensure that there is no damage or foreign matter on the contact surface.
    3. Do not use any tools.
    4. Do not bend or twist the tubes.
    5. Protect the contact surface by covering it with a plastic bag.
    6. If the connector is stuck, push and pull on the parts to separate them.

5. DRAIN FUEL

  1. Drain the fuel from the inlet tube installation position.



6. SEPARATE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Release the checker as shown in the illustration.

  1. Pinch the retainer to release it as shown in the illustration and separate the fuel tank main tube.

7. SEPARATE REAR FUEL EMISSION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Release the retainer as shown in the illustration and separate the fuel emission tube.

8. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

  1. Using an engine lifter, support the fuel tank.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and the fuel tank.

    NOTICE:
    Make sure that the fuel tank does not fall.



9. SEPARATE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Widen the tip of the tube joint clip and pull out the clip in the direction indicated by the arrow.

  1. Pull the fuel tank main tube out of the fuel suction tube assembly to disconnect it.

    NOTICE:
    1. Check for dirt or other foreign matter on the parts to be disconnected and clean them if necessary.
    2. The fuel tube connector seals with an O-ring. Ensure that there is no damage or foreign matter on the contact surface.
    3. Do not use any tools.
    4. Do not bend or twist the tubes.
    5. Protect the contact surface by covering it with a plastic bag.
    6. If the connector is stuck, push and pull on the parts to separate them.



10. SEPARATE FUEL TANK WIRE

  1. Disconnect the fuel tank wire connector from the fuel suction tube assembly.



11. SEPARATE NO. 1 FUEL EVAPORATION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Release the retainer as shown in the illustration and disconnect the No. 1 fuel evaporation tube from the fuel suction tube assembly.

12. REMOVE FUEL PUMP GAUGE RETAINER

  1. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, set SST to the fuel pump gauge retainer.

    HINT:
    Align the ribs of the fuel pump gauge retainer with the tips of SST.

  1. Using SST, loosen the fuel pump gauge retainer.

    NOTICE:
    Do not use any tools other than SST.

    HINT:
    Align the ribs of the fuel pump gauge retainer with the tips of SST.

  1. Remove the fuel pump gauge retainer while holding the fuel suction tube assembly by hand.



13. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the fuel suction tube assembly from the fuel tank.

    NOTICE:
    Do not disconnect the tube shown in the illustration.

  1. Pinch the fuel tank bent tube retainer to release it as shown in the illustration, disconnect the fuel tank bent tube, and then remove fuel suction tube assembly.

14. REMOVE FUEL TANK SUCTION TUBE GASKET

  1. Remove the gasket from the fuel tank.
